Partner Program

Island Partner Agreement

This is the agreement a business accepts when it applies to be listed with My Island Compass. It is written to be read and understood — plain language, not legal jargon.

Version 1.1Effective 9 October 2026

By submitting an application through our partner application, you confirm that you are the owner of the business or an authorised representative, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you accept the terms set out below. We may update this agreement from time to time; if we make a material change, we will tell listed partners before it takes effect, and the version number and effective date above will change.

1. Who this agreement is between

This agreement is between My Island Compass (“we”, “us”) and the business that applies to be listed (“you”, “the partner”). It takes effect when we accept your application and your listing is approved.

You are an independent contractor. Nothing in this agreement makes you an agent, employee, partner in the legal sense, or joint-venture party of My Island Compass, and nothing makes us any of those things to you. You have no authority to enter into contracts, make promises or incur liabilities on our behalf, and we have none on yours. Each side runs its own business, pays its own taxes, and is responsible for its own staff and costs.

2. What we provide

  • A listing page for your business, with your verified details, description and imagery.
  • Placement in itineraries and island guides where your experience is a genuine match for a traveller's plans.
  • A tracked booking link (and, where relevant, a referral code) so that bookings we send you can be identified.
  • Monthly reporting on the referrals and bookings attributed to you, and the commission due.

We do not guarantee a particular number of referrals, placements, bookings or amount of revenue. Placement depends on traveller demand and on how well your experience fits each itinerary.

3. What the partner provides

  • Accurate information — prices, availability, inclusions, contact details and anything else shown on your listing — kept up to date.
  • Valid registration, licences and insurance where your activity requires them, held for the whole time you are listed.
  • Honouring bookings made through us at the prices and terms shown on your listing, and treating referred travellers fairly and safely.

Dining partners. Restaurants and beach bars must keep their opening hours, reservation policy and price band accurate, but are not required to maintain dish-level pricing on their listing — menus change too often for that to be practical.

4. Commission

You pay commission only on bookings we refer to you (see section 5). Nothing is charged on bookings you win through your own channels. Commission is tiered, and your rate falls as the value of the bookings we refer to you grows:

TierCommissionReferred bookings / 12 months
Launch Partner20%Up to $5,000
Preferred Partner17%$5,000 – $15,000
Signature Partner15%$15,000 – $40,000
Flagship Partner12%$40,000 – $100,000
Exclusive Island Partner10%Over $100,000

How tiers are reviewed. Your tier is based on the total value of referred bookings over the preceding twelve months. We review it at each 12-month anniversary of your listing going live. If your referred-booking value has moved you into a lower-commission tier, your new, lower rate applies to bookings referred from that anniversary onward. A review never increases your rate for a slow year — it can only hold it steady or lower it. The full published figures are on the rate card.

Dining annex

Restaurants and beach bars listed as dining partners choose one of two pricing options at signup. Both include the identical listing, Compass Pass guests and reporting:

  • Option A — Flat monthly: $49 per month, or $399 per year. Nothing is charged per booking, however many travellers we send.
  • Option B — Pay per cover: $4.00 per confirmed cover — each traveller who arrives and dines — capped at 10% of the table's bill. Nothing is charged monthly.

No-shows are never charged under either option (see section 6). You may switch between the options at any 12-month anniversary of your listing going live, with 30 days' notice. The percentage tier ladder above does not apply to dining partners. A restaurant that also sells a bookable experience (such as a tasting, cooking class or food tour) may list that experience under the standard commission programme instead.

5. How a booking counts as referred

A booking is a referred booking when it reaches you in any of these ways:

  • Tracked link — the traveller clicks through your tracked booking link and books.
  • Referral code — the traveller uses the referral code we have issued for your business.
  • Concierge — our concierge places the booking with you on a traveller's behalf.
  • Dining reservation or visit — a reservation or visit placed through our concierge, Compass Pass or reservation channel and honoured. For dining partners the billable event is the guest's arrival, not the booking.

Order of precedence (where these conflict). If more than one of these applies to the same booking, it is attributed once, in this order: (1) a concierge-placed booking takes priority, then (2) a referral code, then (3) the tracked link. This prevents a booking being counted — or charged — more than once.

6. Cancellations and refunds

  • Cancelled or fully refunded bookings carry no commission. If commission has already been invoiced or paid, it is credited back to you.
  • Partial refunds reduce commission proportionally — commission is recalculated on the amount the traveller actually paid after the refund.
  • Dining no-shows — no-shows and cancellations before the seating time carry no fee.

7. Invoicing and payment

  • We issue a monthly statement setting out referred bookings for the period and the commission due.
  • Payment terms are 14 days from the statement date.
  • Under Concierge Booking, where we collect the traveller's payment, we deduct commission and remit the balance to you — the same statement reconciles both directions.
  • Late payment. If an undisputed amount is more than 14 days overdue, we may send a reminder, pause new referrals and placement while the balance is outstanding, and apply reasonable interest on the overdue amount as permitted by law. Persistent non-payment is grounds for termination under section 11.

8. Reporting

Each month we report the referrals and bookings attributed to you, their value, any cancellations or refunds in the period, the commission due, and your progress toward the next tier review. Reporting is provided monthly, alongside your statement.

You have the right to query any figure. Raise a query within 30 days of the statement and we will investigate and, where a figure is wrong, correct it and adjust the next statement. Amounts that are not in dispute remain payable on the normal terms while a query is being resolved.

9. Disclosure, ratings and reviews

We disclose the commercial relationship to travellers clearly and consistently: paid placement is labelled as such and never presented as an independent editorial ranking. Paying a higher commission can affect visibility, but it does not buy a rating or a review.

Ratings and reviews cannot be bought, influenced or removed. Neither a partner nor anyone else can pay to raise a rating, shape a review, or have an unfavourable one taken down. We only remove content that breaks our content rules or the law. This is covered further in our Affiliate & Partner Disclosure.

10. Non-exclusivity

This agreement is non-exclusive. You remain free to sell through your own website, other travel platforms, agents and any other channel you choose. The only exception is where you and My Island Compass have separately agreed an exclusivity arrangement in writing — for example, as part of an Exclusive Island Partner tier — in which case that written arrangement sets out its own scope and terms.

11. Term, termination and bookings in progress

  • This agreement starts when your listing goes live and continues until either side ends it.
  • Either side may terminate for convenience on 30 days' written notice.
  • Either side may terminate immediately for a material breach that is not put right within 14 days of being notified — and we may suspend or remove a listing immediately on credible reports of unsafe practice, misrepresentation, or serious mistreatment of travellers.
  • Bookings made before termination. Referred bookings already made before the end date must still be honoured, and commission on them remains due and payable on the normal terms, including bookings that are fulfilled after the listing comes down. Cancellation and refund rules (section 6) continue to apply to those bookings.

12. Data protection and privacy

Each side will handle personal data — including traveller contact and booking details — lawfully, only for the purpose of fulfilling and administering referred bookings, and will keep it secure. You will not use traveller data we share for unrelated marketing without the traveller's consent, and you will delete or return it when it is no longer needed for the booking, unless you are required to keep it by law. How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.

13. Limitation of liability and indemnity

The contract for any experience is between you and the traveller, and you are responsible for delivering what you advertise, safely and lawfully. To the extent permitted by law, neither side is liable to the other for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, revenue or goodwill, and each side's total liability arising from this agreement in any 12-month period is limited to the commission paid or payable under it in that period. Nothing in this agreement limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

You will indemnify My Island Compass against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your delivery of an experience, your breach of this agreement, or your failure to hold the registration, licences or insurance your activity requires.

In short: you are an independent business, you pay commission only on the bookings we actually send you, your rate can only fall over time, we tell travellers the truth about how placement works, and ratings stay independent of what anyone pays.

Please note: This is a summary agreement for the program. Have your own advisor review it before signing.
